In a message Prime Minister Viktor Orbán congratulated President of the Transcarpathian Hungarian Cultural Association László Brenzovics on the organisation’s election result achieved at the weekend, highlighting that at the municipal elections held in Ukraine on 25 October, the Hungarian community demonstrated the strength that lies in unity again, Bertalan Havasi, the Deputy State Secretary heading the Press Office of the Prime Minister informed the Hungarian news agency MTI on Wednesday morning.

“I believe that the mandates of mayors and councillors defended or newly obtained in the latest elections serve as an important guarantee for the continuation of the developments that have taken place in Transcarpathia in recent years,” Mr Orbán wrote in his message. He added that “these results also clearly showed that the Hungarian community in Transcarpathia is proud of its roots of a thousand years, and wants to remain Hungarian in its own native land by taking control of its future.”

“Please allow me to congratulate you on these fine results, and to wish you all the very best and good health with your work in the future. Come on, Hungarians,” the Prime Minister wrote in conclusion.
