05. 04. 2020.
From Monday, parking will be free on public premises in Hungary, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán told the Hungarian news agency MTI on Sunday.

“Maintaining a safe distance between people is one of the most important means of containing the coronavirus epidemic. As on crowded public transport vehicles this is not possible or only possible to a limited extent, it is important that those who can should be able to use their own cars,” the Prime Minister said. To this end, it is necessary to suspend parking fees on public premises, he added.

According to Mr Orbán’s information, in the interest of resolving the situation, on Sunday the government issued a decree which will be released in Magyar Közlöny [Hungarian Gazette] during the course of the day. Pursuant to the decree, from Monday parking will be free on public premises in Hungary, the Prime Minister stated.
