Hungarians in Transylvania will continue to have a say in decisions about them also during the period ahead

In a message, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán congratulated Hunor Kelemen, President of the Democratic Alliance of Hungarians in Romania on the fact that, thanks to the election result achieved in the Sunday elections, there will be robust Hungarian representation in the Romanian parliament also during the period ahead, Bertalan Havasi, the Prime Minister’s press chief informed the Hungarian news agency MTI on Monday afternoon.

According to Mr Orbán, “we all knew that the coronavirus pandemic was going to put the alliance of Hungarian parties led by the Democratic Alliance of Hungarians in Romania to the test in these elections; at the same time, it justified all the more the legitimacy of the exemplary unity experienced in recent months, thanks to which Hungarian communities in Transylvania and Partium will continue to have a say in decisions about them also during the period ahead”. “Please allow me to offer you my heartfelt congratulations on your election result, and to wish you good health and much success with your work in the future,” the Hungarian Prime Minister wrote concluding his message to the President of the Democratic Alliance of Hungarians in Romania.
