Prime Minister Viktor Orbán had talks with Chancellor of the Exchequer

It is a common interest of Hungary and Britain that economic cooperation between the two countries should remain close also in the future, it was established at the meeting of Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and Britain’s Chancellor of the Exchequer Philip Hammond about which the Prime Minister’s press chief informed the government website miniszterelnok.hu.

Bertalan Havasi said: the meeting held in the Parliament Building on Thursday evening was also attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó.

The parties reviewed the latest European and global economic challenges. They highlighted that British companies have played an important role in the Hungarian economy also to date as 800 British businesses provide jobs for more than 50 thousand Hungarians, Britain is Hungary’s 11th most important trade partner and the sixth most significant investor in Hungary. The results achieved so far must be preserved, and must be further enhanced, the Deputy State Secretary heading the Press Office of the Prime Minister said upon rendering an account of the meeting.
