Prime Minister Viktor Orbán offered Croatia Hungary’s help in a message

In a message which he sent to his Croatian counterpart Andrej Plenkovic on Tuesday afternoon, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán offered Hungary’s help and support in alleviating the damage caused by the recent earthquake and in the reconstruction process in the wake of the disaster, Bertalan Havasi, the head of the Press Office of the Prime Minister informed the Hungarian news agency MTI, adding that the Prime Minister requested a report from the Hungarian disaster management agencies.

“I was shocked to learn about the earthquake of devastating magnitude that took place in the heart of Croatia, near the settlements of Petrinja and Sisak,” the Hungarian Prime Minister wrote, reassuring his Croatian counterpart that the Hungarian people stand with Croatia during these difficult days. “We pray for the victims’ families and wish the injured a swift recovery,” Mr Orbán wrote in conclusion. Mr Havasi told MTI that the Prime Minister had immediately requested a report from the relevant Hungarian authorities regarding the impact of the earthquake on Hungary and any possible damage.
