Prime Minister Viktor Orbán sends his condolences to the family of the police officer murdered in Bőny

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has expressed his condolences to the family of a police officer who was murdered in Bőny.

A statement by the Prime Minister, released after Officer Péter Pálvölgyi was shot on Wednesday morning in the Moson-Sopron County town of Bőny, contained the following: “I was deeply saddened to hear of the death of one of our police officers, who was murdered while on duty. I express my heartfelt condolences to his family”.

In the statement, which his Chief Press Officer Bertalan Havasi forwarded to kormany.hu, the Prime Minister stressed that “It is unacceptable for anyone to attack the defenders of law and order in Hungary, for whatever reason”. Mr. Orbán added that “The most determined and toughest possible action must be taken against the perpetrators of such acts”.
