Viktor Orbán receives International Energy Agency Executive Director

Bertalan Havasi, Press Chief of the Prime Minister has informed Hungarian news agency MTI that on Thursday in the Parliament Building Prime Minister Viktor Orbán held talks with Executive Director of the International Energy Agency (IEA) Fatih Birol on global energy security issues.

During the talks Mr. Birol praised the energy security of Hungary, Mr. Havasi said.

On behalf of IEA, Mr. Birol welcomed the efforts of Hungary made in the fields of energy security and pollutant emission reduction. He believed that Hungary has taken significant steps towards the right direction by creating the National Energy Strategy 2030, which was published in 2011.

The talks have taken place prior to the International Energy Agency introducing its report on the evaluation of the Hungarian energy policy in Budapest.
