Visegrád countries and South Korea to deepen relations

The V4 leaders also assured South Korea’s president of their support for the peaceful reunification of the two Korean states.

At a press conference, Ms. Park said that “we have accepted a joint declaration which will be the foundation of our future cooperation”. She said that the existing relations are dynamic, and so they wish to maintain them.

Hungarian prime minister Viktor Orbán explained that “the cooperation between the V4 and South Korea is of great importance not only for the region, but for the whole of the European Union.” He added that so far the cooperation has been successful.

Czech prime minster Bohuslav Sobotka emphasised that South Korea is one of the most important economic partners of the Visegrád Group.

Slovakia’s prime minister Robert Fico said that currently there are approximately 280 South Korean companies active in the Central European region, and they produce about 5-10 per cent of the GDP in the countries concerned.

Polish prime minister Beata Szydlo said that South Korea is an outstanding economic partner for Poland, adding that they wish to further deepen the cooperation.
