Prime Minister Viktor Orbán greeted members of the Hungarian Jewish community on the occasion of the Jewish festival Hanukkah in a message in which he wished them happy celebrations despite the epidemic situation, Bertalan Havasi, the head of the Press Office of the Prime Minister informed the Hungarian news agency MTI.

“The holiday of the light of candles burning for eight days has always symbolised hope in the midst of hopelessness, the legitimacy of miracles at times of hardship. During such a trying period, we need to trust in the all-conquering strength of faith and standing together more than ever,” the Prime Minister wrote.

Also this year, the message was delivered to the heads of Jewish organisations in Hungary, Mr Havasi said.
