First autumn cabinet meeting held – In Hungary there will be no energy shortage
02. 09. 2022.
The first cabinet meeting of the autumn political season led by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán was held in the Carmelite Monastery, Bertalan Havasi, the Prime Minister’s press chief informed the Hungarian news agency MTI on Friday.

Among others, the ministers first reviewed the work completed to date by the energy emergency operational group and the drought emergency operational group, and later discussed topical fiscal and economic issues.

They established that due to the war and the flawed Brussels sanctions, an energy crisis was expected to emerge in the autumn in the whole of Europe. However, thanks to the measures implemented by the government to date, in Hungary there will be no energy shortage; there is and there will be gas, electricity and fuel.

The government is doing everything it can to protect the Hungarian people from wartime inflation and to protect the reduction of household energy bills, the press chief’s communication reads.
