National Security Operational Group in session again
28. 02. 2022.
At 8.00 a.m. Monday morning, the National Security Operational Group led by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán met again in the Carmelite Monastery, Bertalan Havasi, the Prime Minister’s press chief informed the Hungarian news agency MTI.

At the Monday meeting of the Operational Group, attendees will review the developments of the past few days, and will adopt any further decisions that may become necessary in the interest of the security of Hungary and the Hungarian people, Mr Havasi said.

The National Security Operational Group is a forum with special powers whose duty it is to facilitate governmental decision-making, including closely monitoring the war situation in Ukraine and analysing the available information.

According to the government’s position, the security of Hungary is the number one priority, and Hungary must be left out of the Russia-Ukraine conflict. Hungary as a member of the EU and NATO supports the joint EU efforts aimed at the restoration of peace, while the government is also preparing for border protection and humanitarian tasks. It was in the service of these goals that Mr Orbán set up and leads the operational group, the press chief said.
