President of Israel also offered his congratulations to Prime Minister Viktor Orbán

Israeli head of state Isaac Herzog also sent a congratulatory message to Prime Minister Viktor Orbán on Fidesz-KDNP’s landslide, two-thirds election victory; in his message, he referred to Hungary as a friend and an ally of Israel, Bertalan Havasi, the Prime Minister’s press chief informed the Hungarian news agency MTI on Thursday.

President Herzog offered his cordial congratulations on behalf of the State of Israel and the Israeli people, pointing out that Hungary and Israel have valuable friendly ties that connect them together. He stressed the importance of the two countries in each other’s lives, with special regard to the vibrant Hungarian culture that is present in Israel and the deep-rooted and significant role the Jewish community plays in the past and present of Hungary.

The President of Israel expressed his appreciation to Mr Orbán for his committed solidarity with his country. He thanked the Prime Minister for the fact that Hungary always stands up for Israel at international forums, and so they look upon our country as an unshakeable ally and a friend, Mr Havasi said summarising the content of the message.
