Prime Minister Viktor Orbán congratulated his Croatian counterpart on new sea bridge

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán congratulated Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic on the successful conclusion of the construction of the Peljesac Bridge, in consequence of which a land connection avoiding Bosnia and Herzegovina has been established between Croatia’s southernmost parts and other territories of the country, Bertalan Havasi, the Prime Minister’s press chief informed the Hungarian news agency MTI on Wednesday morning.

“I sincerely believe that the conclusion of the most significant Croatian infrastructure project which you implemented with exemplary efficiency with the participation of international partners is an historic milestone for the Republic of Croatia,” Mr Orbán wrote in his message, adding that the new bridge which puts an end to the partitioned state of Croatia is an excellent example of how to better connect the region.

“For us Hungarians Croatia is traditionally a favourite summer holiday destination. Therefore, I am happy that from now on via the new Peljesac Bridge our tourists as well as travellers from all over the world will be able to discover the exceptional beauties of Southern Dalmatia via a safer and much faster road,” Mr Orbán wrote, concluding his congratulatory message.
