Prime Minister Viktor Orbán had talks with representatives of family affairs organisations about the restarting of the country

According to his communication, the meeting was attended by Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Single Parents’ Centre Anna Nagy, President of the National Association of Large Families (Mrs) Kardosné, Katalin Gyurkó, President of The Three Princes, Three Princesses Movement Fruzsina Skrabski, President of the Mária Kopp Institute for Demography and Families Tünde Fűrész, and Minister without Portfolio for Families Katalin Novák.

Mr Orbán rendered an account of the event in a video shared on his social media account. He said the country must be restarted not only economically as the lockdown and the resulting isolation has taken its toll on families. According to the Prime Minister, there is a need for a plan about how to restart schools, how to restart sports and study groups, how to reorganise summer camps, and how in general the country should seek to regain its vitality, self-confidence and mutual trust in one another. He observed that they had received many good proposals, several of which would soon be discussed by the government.

The Single Parent Families’ Foundation has operated the Single Parents’ Centre since 2018 as a pioneer initiative not only in Hungary, but also internationally. The centre was created in order to provide equal opportunities for the more than five hundred thousand single-parent children living in Hungary, and to help the everyday lives of single-parent families as a means of support.
