Prime Minister Viktor Orbán offered his condolences to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán offered his condolences in a message sent to his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu in connection with the mass disaster that occurred on Mount Meron in Israel, Bertalan Havasi, the Deputy State Secretary heading the Press Office of the Prime Minister informed the Hungarian news agency MTI on Friday.

The Prime Minister wrote he was deeply shocked to learn about the tragic events that occurred at the annual Lag BaOmer religious festival which claimed many lives and caused dozens to be injured.

“Please allow me to offer my sincerest condolences, and our deepest compassion for and solidarity with the families of the victims. We wish the injured a swift recovery,” Mr Orbán wrote, adding that “our thoughts and prayers are with the victims, their families and the people of Israel during this difficult period”.
