Prime Minister Viktor Orbán received governor of Burgenland

On Friday afternoon in the Carmelite Monastery in Budapest, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and Governor of Burgenland (Austria) Hans Peter Doskozil had talks about border protection and bilateral cooperation, Bertalan Havasi, the Deputy State Secretary heading the Press Office of the Prime Minister informed the Hungarian news agency MTI.

At the meeting, the parties reviewed relations between Hungary and its neighbour Burgenland, and agreed that in the future, better exploring the opportunities inherent in cooperation, they will launch major development projects.

Mr Orbán and Mr Doskozil agreed on the importance of effective border protection in the interest of stopping illegal immigration.

The Hungarian Prime Minister thanked his guest for the fact that earlier as Austria’s defence minister he helped with the protection of Hungary’s southern borders with military force, Mr Havasi said.
