Prime Minister Viktor Orbán received Peace Light of Betlehem from leaders of Hungarian Greek Catholic Church

On Friday afternoon in the Carmelite Monastery, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán received leaders of parishes of the Hungarian Greek Catholic Church, Bertalan Havasi, the Prime Minister’s press chief informed the Hungarian news agency MTI.

Metropolitan Archbishop of the Archeparchy of Hajdúdorog, Greek Catholic Archbishop Fülöp Kocsis, Eparchial Bishop of the Eparchy of Miskolc Atanáz Orosz, Eparchial Bishop of the Eparchy of Nyíregyháza and Bishop István Seszták handed over the Peace Light of Betlehem to the Prime Minister, and then sang songs of praise to lay the foundations for the atmosphere of a conversation about Advent, the press chief said. At the meeting which was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister-President of the Christian Democratic People’s Party Zsolt Semjén, the parties reviewed the possibilities of cooperation between the Hungarian Greek Catholic Church and the government, Mr Havasi highlighted, adding that in the company of Government Commissioner-Head of the Castle Headquarters Gergely Fodor, the guests viewed the building of the Carmelite Monastery housing the Prime Minister’s Office.
