Prime Minister Viktor Orbán to travel to Kazakhstan and China after Easter

On Tuesday Viktor Orbán, Prime Minister of Hungary will travel to Kazakhstan where he will pay an official visit, following which, between 25 and 28 April, he will have talks in Beijing with Chinese leaders and will attend the second Belt and Road forum, Bertalan Havasi, the Deputy State Secretary heading the Press Office of the Prime Minister informed the Hungarian news agency MTI on Saturday.

In the Kazakh capital Nur-Sultan, the Hungarian Prime Minster will have talks with head of state Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Prime Minister Askar Mamin, and according to plans he will also meet with first President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev.

On Thursday in Beijing Mr Orbán will have talks with Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang, following which they will sign bilateral agreements. The Hungarian Prime Minister will also be received by Chinese President Xi Jinping.

The second Belt and Road Forum to be attended by 37 heads of state and government and other leaders will begin on Friday.

China’s Foreign Minister highlighted earlier that the event will focus on topics such as the development of connections, the exploration of new sources of growth, the development of new forms of cooperation and sustainable development. The Beijing forum is the highest-level international event attached to the global economic and infrastructure One Belt, One Road initiative announced in 2013. The forum will be China’s most important event this year.
