Prime Minister Viktor Orbán sent a congratulatory message to Zoltán Balog on the occasion that the Bishop of the Reformed Church District of Dunamellék was elected as Ministerial President of the General Synod of the Reformed Church in Hungary, Bertalan Havasi, the Prime Minister’s press chief informed the Hungarian news agency MTI on Thursday.

“Today when the world expects the church to baptise notions that have absolutely no desire to be converted, there is an especially great need for the Hungarian spiritual heirs of the Reformation to show strength, courage in the profession of their faith, and unity in line with the teachings of the Holy Scripture,” Mr Orbán wrote.

The Prime Minister stated he was convinced that the extensive experience Mr Balog had gained in the past few decades would be of great help to him “in this noble fight,” and thanks to his service as president, the community of the Hungarian Reformed Church could become even more united and stronger.
