United Kingdom summit to be held in London

On 8 March in London, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson will receive the prime ministers of Hungary, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Poland, the Visegrád countries. In light of the Russian intervention in Ukraine, at the summit the parties will discuss the European security situation and relations between the United Kingdom and the region, Bertalan Havasi, the head of the Press Office of the Prime Minister informed the Hungarian news agency MTI.

The summit will take place at a time that is of paramount importance for Europe and the world. The event will follow Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s meeting in London last year and the British Prime Minister’s visit to Poland at the beginning of February, the communication reads.

At the March summit, the attendees will debate the defence and security issues that follow from the latest European developments. Items on the agenda will further include economic relations and the strengthening of cultural relations between the United Kingdom and the V4.

Mr Havasi added that in conjunction with the summit to be held in London, the leaders will also conduct several rounds of bilateral talks.
