We will further strengthen both Hungarian-British and British-EU relations

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán congratulated newly-elected British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak in a message, Bertalan Havasi, the Prime Minister’s press chief informed the Hungarian news agency MTI on Monday evening.

Mr Orbán recalled that there were excellent bilateral relations between Hungary and the United Kingdom, and highlighted that cooperation was based on mutual respect, jointly-held values, common interests and deep-rooted historical relations.

During these hard times hallmarked by multiple crises, when challenges are directly affecting our citizens, it is extremely important that as allies and partners with similar mindsets we further enhance the intensity of our already close cooperation, the Hungarian Prime Minister wrote.

“I’d like to take this opportunity to repeatedly express our commitment to strengthening Hungarian-British relations and to also building strong and mutually advantageous cooperation between the United Kingdom and the European Union, Mr Orbán wrote in conclusion.
