Viktor Orbán is travelling to Brussels, and from Sunday will be hosting the Chinese Prime Minister

The Eastern Partnership was launched in 2009 with the aim of facilitating political partnership and economic integration between the EU and six Eastern European partner countries: Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Armenia and Ukraine.

According to information published by the European Council, the participants of Friday’s summit will review the progress achieved since the previous summit in Riga in 2015, particularly with respect to what tangible changes the Partnership has brought for the citizens of its six partner countries.

The “record events” of this year will continue for Hungarian diplomacy on Sunday with the arrival in Hungary of one of the world’s most important leaders, the Premier of China, Mr. Havasi told the press.

The 7th China-CEEC Summit (16+1 Summit) will be held on Monday in Budapest, and will be chaired by Chinese Premier Li Keqiang.

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Orbán and the Chinese Premier will also be holding official inter-governmental talks, in addition to which Mr. Orbán will also be holding bilateral meetings with the heads of government of several of the region’s countries, the head of the Press Office of the Prime Minister said in the statement.
